Responsible Gambling Mobile Clinic Brings Awareness to Gaborone Communities. The Gambling Authority’s Responsible Gambling Mobile Screening Clinic made its latest stop today at the Gaborone Hotel (Bus Rank), continuing its outreach mission under the #MotshameokoOPhepa campaign to promote safer gambling practices and community wellbeing.

The mobile clinic activation offered free screenings, awareness sessions, and informational materials to members of the public, encouraging individuals to reflect on and manage their gambling habits. The initiative aims to reduce gambling-related harm by providing early intervention, support services, and referrals for further assistance.

Through this ongoing activation, the Gambling Authority seeks to reach individuals where they are – in busy public spaces – making responsible gambling resources accessible to all segments of the population, including vulnerable groups often overlooked in traditional outreach efforts.

Community members engaged with trained counsellors who provided guidance on setting limits, understanding risks, and accessing ongoing support. The Authority emphasized that responsible gambling is not just a personal responsibility but a societal goal tied to broader objectives like economic and social sustainability.

The campaign also aligns with Botswana’s national strategy for inclusive growth, as it works to safeguard communities while supporting the economic contributions of the regulated gambling sector.
