Incepta Communications Secures Hosting Rights for Khawa Dune Challenge and Cultural Festival (2025–2027). The Botswana Tourism Organisation (BTO) has officially announced that Incepta Communications (Pty) Ltd will host the highly anticipated Khawa Dune Challenge and Cultural Festival for the next three years, covering the 2025 to 2027 period.
The adjudication decision, released this week, marks a new chapter for the iconic festival, renowned for blending high-octane motorsport action with vibrant cultural celebration in the heart of Botswana’s Kgalagadi District. Incepta Communications, a locally based events and media company, will take the lead in organizing and managing all aspects of the festival.
The Khawa Dune Challenge and Cultural Festival has grown significantly over the years, drawing thousands of visitors from across Botswana and neighboring countries. It is celebrated for its thrilling quad bike and 4×4 races across the Khawa dunes, as well as its rich showcase of local music, traditional dance, cuisine, and crafts.
With the new hosting agreement in place, the BTO expressed confidence in Incepta’s ability to uphold and elevate the festival’s reputation. “We look forward to three years of unforgettable dunes, culture, and community spirit,” read the official statement.
Incepta Communications is expected to begin preparations immediately, with early planning focused on enhancing visitor experiences, supporting local vendors, and ensuring the logistical execution meets safety and quality standards.
This multi-year partnership is seen as a boost not only to tourism but to the socio-economic development of the surrounding communities. The festival remains a key platform for promoting Botswana’s desert tourism potential and cultural heritage.
