Youth Business Expo Showcases Growing Entrepreneurial Energy in Ghanzi. A strong display of innovation and ambition took centre stage in Ghanzi as 150 young entrepreneurs gathered for the Youth Business Exposition, hosted through a collaboration between the Ministry of Youth and Gender Affairs (MYGA) and Africa Mining Services (AMS). The event focused on strengthening youth entrepreneurship under the theme “Developing, Promoting and Sustaining the Spirit of Entrepreneurship among the Youth of Ghanzi”.

Opening the expo, Kgosi A. Rankho highlighted the importance of youth staying informed about developments in their communities and encouraged attendees to cultivate vision and purpose as they build their futures. She noted that the gathering is part of an ongoing partnership between MYGA and AMS, which has made consistent efforts to empower youth in the district.

Africa Mining Services’ representative, Mr. Marang Molatlhegi, reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to nurturing local enterprise. He shared that this marks the third consecutive year AMS has partnered with MYGA to host the expo, describing it as more than a showcase of ideas — but a meaningful platform for growth, opportunities and transformation.

Ms. Neo Papane from the Department of Youth outlined the aims of the initiative, emphasising youth participation in the local economy, exploring business as a viable income path, and spotlighting youth-led products, services and innovations. She added that the expo creates essential linkages with government entities, potential partners and investors while also celebrating the resilience of young entrepreneurs.

Delivering the keynote address, Minister of Youth and Gender Affairs, Honourable Lesego Chomo, commended the initiative’s impact. She described the expo as a symbol of hope and empowerment for the young people of Ghanzi, urging participants to fully engage, network and unlock new opportunities.

The expo also received support from organisations including Raptor Mining Services, Barloworld Equipment, Advanced Fire, LEA, CEDA and AECI Botswana, reinforcing a shared commitment to supporting youth enterprise across the district.
