Botswana’s entrepreneurial ecosystem is set for a major boost with two high-impact opportunities now open for applications, each designed to help local innovators attract investment or build strong, scalable businesses.,
The Botswana Investment and Trade Centre (BITC) is currently inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the Pula Investment Conference, which will be held during Global Expo Botswana 2025. This prestigious platform is open to private sector businesses, entrepreneurs, and project developers seeking investment for high-impact ventures.
Selected applicants will pitch directly to potential investors, including regional and international players. Target sectors include infrastructure, agriculture, manufacturing, mining, tourism, health, finance, and ICT. To qualify, projects must be investment-ready or near readiness, with a minimum investment value of BWP 5 million. A solid business model, strong market potential, and regulatory compliance are key requirements.
Meanwhile, early-stage entrepreneurs can apply for the Botswana Early Stage Program, a 12-week hybrid initiative developed in partnership between the Botswana Digital & Innovation Hub (BDIH) and the MIT Kuo Sharper Center for Prosperity and Entrepreneurship.
Starting the week of June 23, 2025, the program is geared toward first-time founders and recent graduates operating at the idea or MVP stage. Participants will receive practical venture-building support based on Lean Startup principles, expert training from MIT faculty, and access to mentorship, investors, and a final Demo Day.
