Tswanafuel Moves to Acquire Gaborone Industrial Property in Notified Merger Filing. Tswanafuel has formally notified the Competition and Consumer Authority of its intention to acquire Lot 22058 in Gaborone from Mandarin Group. The proposed transaction is outlined in a sales and purchase agreement dated 30 July 2025 and marks another strategic move within Botswana’s evolving fuel and industrial property landscape.

Tswanafuel, a Botswana-registered company fully controlled by Alliance Energy Group, operates within the fuel retail sector and supplies both petrol and diesel across the country. The company also oversees several subsidiaries, including Tswanagas, Lubricants Supplies Botswana, and Amber Moon. Its board comprises Seyed Jemaldeen Muhammed Anzsar, Mohamed Nafrin Mohideen, and Mmonesi Aryl Ralebala.

Mandarin Group, the seller in this proposed acquisition, is a locally registered property holding company solely owned and directed by Wei Zhou. The asset at the center of the transaction is an industrial-zoned property located in Gaborone, a sector that continues to attract strong interest due to expansion in manufacturing, logistics, and fuel infrastructure.

The notification sets in motion the Authority’s assessment process, which will determine whether the transaction affects competition or consumer welfare in relevant markets. For Botswana’s business community, particularly those operating in fuel distribution, logistics, property development, and industrial services, the acquisition signals continued investment and consolidation within a sector that supports national economic activity.

Industrial-zoned land in Gaborone remains a valuable asset for companies seeking to expand operational capacity. Should the transaction receive regulatory clearance, it may create opportunities for further infrastructure development tied to Tswanafuel’s existing operations and broader sectoral growth.
