Tirelo Ramasedi to Speak at Future of Mining Summit 2026. The upcoming Future of Mining Summit 2026, scheduled for 29–30 June at Boipuso Hall, will feature Tirelo Ramasedi, Citizen Economic Empowerment Programme (CEEP) Coordinator at Morupule Coal Mine, as one of its distinguished speakers. The summit will run under the theme “Mining for Transformation: Economic Diversification & Shared Prosperity.”

Ramasedi is widely recognised as a problem solver, social innovator, and certified Prosci change management expert. With more than 13 years of industry experience, she has worked across academia, private, and public sectors, contributing to national and regional entrepreneurship development programmes in technological innovation, indigenous knowledge systems, and biosciences.

At Morupule Coal Mine, Botswana’s largest coal operation, Ramasedi plays a pivotal role in ensuring inclusivity within the supply chain. Her work has enabled citizen-owned businesses to access opportunities valued at more than BWP 1 billion, strengthening business agility, resilience, and efficiency.

Beyond her corporate role, Ramasedi is a passionate advocate for gender equality and inclusivity. She serves as Chairperson of the MCM Women in Mining Committee (WiMCo) and is the founder of the Mmabontle Circle, an initiative aimed at closing gender and leadership gaps in Botswana’s economic sectors. Her advocacy has extended regionally, including contributions to the Science Granting Councils Initiative (SGCI) Gender Equality and Inclusivity Project, which led to Botswana becoming a signatory to the SADC Women in Science, Engineering and Technology Organisation (WISETO) Charter.

Ramasedi’s career has also seen collaborations with organisations such as the Government of Botswana, AU NEPAD SanBio, Google, Microsoft, and De Beers, reflecting her broad impact across industries and regions.

Holding a Bachelor’s in Computer Information Systems from the University of Botswana, along with qualifications in innovation systems leadership, intellectual property, technology transfer, and business incubation, Ramasedi brings a wealth of expertise to the summit.Her participation at the Future of Mining Summit 2026 underscores the importance of inclusive leadership and innovation in shaping the mining sector’s role in Botswana’s economic diversification and shared prosperity.
