Sefalana Secures International Grain Supply to Support Government Nutrition CContracts. Sefalana Group has confirmed the successful sourcing of key grain supplies from international markets to support its Food Botswana operations, ensuring the uninterrupted fulfilment of government nutrition tenders, including the production of Tsabana and Malutu.

According to the Group, sorghum has been procured from Brazil, soya beans from Mozambique, Canada and Ukraine, and maize from South Africa. This strategic sourcing effort comes amid ongoing efforts to stabilise food production amid global supply chain disruptions and domestic demand for fortified food products.

Tsabana and Malutu remain essential in Botswana’s national food programme, providing nutritional support to vulnerable populations, especially children and expectant mothers. By securing these grains early and at scale, Sefalana has reaffirmed its ability to meet national food security requirements while maintaining high production standards.

For local entrepreneurs and small businesses in the agribusiness and logistics value chain, this announcement signals stability in Sefalana’s operations and offers potential partnership opportunities in areas such as packaging, transportation, and distribution.

In a climate where agricultural imports remain critical to national food manufacturing, Sefalana’s strong procurement strategy underscores its role as a dependable partner to both government and the private sector.
