PutYouthOn Bootcamp Equips Young Changemakers to Build Purpose-Driven Social Ventures. Botswana’s young innovators took centre stage this past Saturday at the PutYouthOn Impact Lab Series, a social entrepreneurship bootcamp hosted by the PutYouthOn Organisation. The event, part of an ongoing effort to empower youth-led ventures, offered participants practical tools to build and scale businesses that tackle real community challenges.

From ideation to implementation, the day focused on teaching attendees how to navigate Botswana’s socio-economic landscape as active changemakers. The bootcamp featured sessions on problem mapping, identifying value propositions, and aligning with national development goals.

Keynote speaker Diphuka Barbara Moleboge, known as Miss SDGs, gave an insightful talk on the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Botswana’s progress. She identified specific opportunity zones, such as digital motshelo, where young entrepreneurs could focus their efforts to help drive inclusive national development.

Adding a practical dimension, Thabang Boy, founder of Fusion Attire and co-founder of Rage Room, led a startup simulation. Attendees worked in teams to solve real-world business challenges under time pressure, gaining firsthand experience in early-stage problem-solving.

To close the session, each participant received a personal reflection tool titled A Founder’s Anchor, designed to help them remain grounded in their mission and purpose during the ups and downs of entrepreneurship.

For Botswana’s entrepreneurs and business community, the event signals a growing ecosystem of socially conscious founders who are eager to innovate and contribute to national progress. The bootcamp reinforced the message that youth are not only the future — they are ready to lead now.
