Proflight Zambia Expands Regional Air Links with New Lusaka–Livingstone–Maun RRoute. A new regional air connection linking Zambia and Botswana is set to take off as Proflight Zambia prepares to launch a three-city route between Lusaka, Livingstone, and Maun starting 2 May 2026.
The service will operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, providing a direct travel link between two of Southern Africa’s most prominent tourism hubs. The new route is expected to improve accessibility for travellers moving between Zambia’s tourism centres and Botswana’s northern safari destinations.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Botswana (CAAB) has confirmed that a celebratory event will be held to mark the inaugural landing at Maun International Airport on 2 May 2026 at 12:00 PM airside. The event will formally welcome the new service as it begins operations.
According to CAAB, the route is part of Botswana’s Air Access Programme, which is designed to attract additional regional and international air services. The programme aims to enhance connectivity, support tourism development, and contribute to employment creation by improving access to key destinations.
The Lusaka–Livingstone–Maun connection will operate until October 2026, providing a seasonal corridor that links travellers to major attractions across both countries. Livingstone, known for its proximity to Victoria Falls, and Maun, widely recognised as a gateway to the Okavango Delta, form key points along the route.
The introduction of this service is expected to strengthen aviation and tourism ties between Botswana and Zambia while offering improved travel convenience for both leisure and business passengers. It also reflects ongoing efforts within the region to expand air transport options that support cross-border tourism flows and regional economic integration.
