President Boko Urges Stronger Public-Private Collaboration at Africa CEO Forum in Gaborone. President Advocate Duma Gideon Boko has called for stronger collaboration between government and private sector players to accelerate Botswana’s economic transformation. He delivered the remarks during the Ambrosetti CEO Community – Africa Chapter Forum held today at Hotel 430 in Gaborone.

The high-level gathering brought together regional business leaders, development partners, and policymakers to exchange insights on innovation, integration, and sustainable economic growth across Africa.

Among the key participants was the Botswana Development Corporation (BDC), reaffirming its commitment to catalysing investment and private sector development. As Botswana’s primary investment arm, BDC continues to bridge the gap between policy ambition and on-the-ground execution—driving local business growth and unlocking regional value chains.

In his keynote, President Boko spotlighted the Botswana Economic Transformation Programme (BETP), positioning it as a bold and inclusive initiative driven by private sector innovation. He emphasized that unlocking Botswana’s potential requires agile partnerships that harness technology, entrepreneurship, and strategic capital investment.

BDC echoed this message, noting that national progress depends on strategic alignment between public institutions and private players. The Corporation reaffirmed its role as a development partner committed to enabling economic diversification, fostering competitiveness, and supporting scalable business models.

For Botswana entrepreneurs and businesses, the forum signalled fresh momentum toward building a more dynamic and opportunity-rich economy, where collaboration is key and the private sector is positioned as a central driver of inclusive growth.
