Orange Digital Center Empowers Botswana Youth with Free Tech Skills. The Orange Digital Center (ODC) is equipping Botswana’s youth with practical technology skills this school holiday through its Super Coders Vacation Camp and Canva Design Camp, running until 5 September 2025. Targeting children aged 9 to 17, the initiative provides hands-on training in coding and graphic design, preparing the next generation for future-ready careers.

At the Super Coders Camp, participants learn the fundamentals of programming using Scratch Coding, creating interactive games and gaining foundational skills in software development. Meanwhile, the Canva Design Camp focuses on graphic design, teaching students how to build personal branding kits and visual portfolios that could support entrepreneurial projects or digital initiatives.

“Through these camps, we aim to empower the next generation of Batswana to not just consume technology, but to create it,” said Tebogo Nadisah, Orange Botswana Public Relations and Communications Manager. “The Orange Digital Center is more than a tech hub; it’s a space where young people gain real skills, build confidence, and see that their ideas can come to life.”

This initiative forms part of Orange Botswana’s wider strategy to nurture future innovators, providing advanced programs in coding, design, and entrepreneurship for students showing aptitude and interest. By offering these high-quality programs at no cost, Orange ensures equitable access to digital education across communities.

The training builds on previous programs, such as the For Good Connections initiative in June, which focused on responsible digital use and cyberbullying awareness. Parents, educators, and community leaders are encouraged to support youth participation, helping children develop practical skills that could contribute to business innovation and technology-driven entrepreneurship in Botswana.
