Okavango Wilderness Safaris to Host 2nd Annual Local Supplier Expo in Maun. Okavango Wilderness Safaris (OWS), in partnership with several stakeholders including the Botswana Investment and Trade Centre (BITC), will host its second annual Local Supplier Expo on 26 and 27 June 2025 in Maun. The event follows the success of the inaugural expo held in 2024.

The two-day expo aims to provide local producers with a platform to showcase their products to a diverse range of stakeholders. By fostering connections and increasing visibility, the event seeks to create new business opportunities for local suppliers and vendors. Over 75 local and national suppliers are expected to participate.

This initiative is part of OWS’s ongoing commitment to supporting local businesses, strengthening relationships with local producers, and providing a dedicated space for enterprise development. The expo aligns with the national #PushaBW campaign, which encourages Batswana to support and buy locally made products.

Day one of the event will feature an exhibition where suppliers can present their products to potential buyers and partners. On the second day, a workshop will focus on capacity building, knowledge sharing, and improving the competitiveness of citizen-owned businesses.

Key sponsors and partners supporting this year’s expo include the Local Enterprise Authority (LEA), Citizen Entrepreneur Development Agency (CEDA), BITC, Stanbic Bank Botswana, and the ProLearn Institute, among others. These organizations share a commitment to empowering local enterprises and promoting sustainable economic growth.

The OWS Local Supplier Expo represents a private-sector led effort to strengthen local supplier networks and encourage procurement from citizen-owned businesses, reinforcing the broader goals of Botswana’s economic development agenda.
