Okavango Diamond Company Represented at Mining Indaba by Acting Managing DDirector. Okavango Diamond Company (ODC) is being represented at the 2026 Investing in African Mining Indaba in Cape Town by its Acting Managing Director, Ms Lipalesa Makepe.

The annual Investing in African Mining Indaba brings together mining companies, government representatives, investors, and industry stakeholders to discuss developments and opportunities within Africa’s mining sector. ODC’s participation forms part of its engagement with global partners and industry peers at the event.

Ms Makepe brings more than 20 years of professional experience across finance, auditing, and risk management. Since joining ODC in 2018, she has held senior leadership responsibilities within the organisation and currently serves as Acting Managing Director.

Prior to her role at ODC, Ms Makepe held senior executive positions at Barclays Bank of Botswana. Her career also includes service on several major boards, including the Bank of Botswana, the Botswana Stock Exchange, and Barclays Bank of Botswana, among others. Her experience spans both the financial services and corporate governance sectors.

Ms Makepe is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and a Fellow Chartered Accountant with the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (FCA). These professional credentials reflect her background in financial management, governance, and regulatory oversight.

ODC said her participation at the Mining Indaba aligns with the company’s ongoing engagement in industry dialogue and its presence at major international platforms. The event provides an opportunity for mining entities to exchange perspectives on market trends, partnerships, and the future of the sector across the continent.

The Investing in African Mining Indaba serves as a key forum for discussions around Africa’s mineral resources and industry outlook. ODC’s representation at the event forms part of its broader engagement within the global diamond and mining industry.
