ODC Begins 2026 Board Term With Focus on Governance and Botswana’s Diamond Future. The Okavango Diamond Company (ODC) has begun its first Board engagement of 2026 with a two-day induction programme focused on governance, strategic alignment and organisational oversight.

The Board of Directors Induction was held from 17 to 18 August at the Diamond Technology Park in Gaborone and was led by Board Chairman Yoram Dvash.

The programme brought together ODC’s independent non-executive directors, the Acting Managing Director and members of the company’s senior management team.

The induction included introductory and interactive sessions between Board members and management, providing an opportunity to discuss ODC’s mandate, strategic priorities, operations and key initiatives.

Board members were also taken on a tour of ODC’s operations. The tour provided the directors with an opportunity to gain a firsthand view of the company’s activities and its role within Botswana’s diamond value chain.

A special Board meeting formed part of the two-day programme, during which members engaged on strategic matters expected to influence ODC’s direction during the year ahead.

The induction comes as ODC continues to focus on sustainable growth and value creation for Botswana.

According to ODC, the programme was intended to go beyond formal induction requirements by creating an opportunity for collaboration, knowledge sharing and establishing a shared understanding of the company’s vision.

The engagement also provided the new Board with an overview of the company’s operations and strategic priorities as directors begin their work.

ODC plays a role in Botswana’s diamond industry through its activities within the country’s diamond value chain. The Board’s induction included discussions and operational exposure intended to strengthen its understanding of that role.

The two-day programme therefore combined governance discussions, management engagement, operational exposure and strategic deliberations.
