Motor Holdings Botswana Backs National Flood Relief with Essential Supplies. Motor Holdings Botswana has stepped forward in support of national disaster response efforts by donating essential supplies to the National Flood Relief Fund, reinforcing the private sector’s role in strengthening Botswana’s disaster preparedness and community resilience.

The donation, which was officially received today by Minister for State President Hon. Moeti Caesar Mohwasa, includes food hampers, mattresses, blankets, and headlamps — critical items for families affected by recent and anticipated flooding.

In his remarks, Minister Mohwasa commended Motor Holdings Botswana for its timely and meaningful contribution, noting that the gesture reflects the company’s strong commitment to corporate social responsibility. He emphasized that as dam levels across the country stand at approximately 70%, proactive collaboration between government and the private sector is vital to mitigating the impact of potential floods.

“This contribution demonstrates true corporate citizenship and sets an example of how businesses can play an active role in national relief efforts,” said Mohwasa. He further encouraged more private sector players to partner with government in supporting communities affected by natural disasters and strengthening national readiness.

For Motor Holdings Botswana, the donation underscores its ongoing commitment to community development and humanitarian support beyond its commercial operations. The company’s initiative aligns with the broader national goal of fostering collective responsibility in responding to emergencies and protecting vulnerable communities.

As Botswana continues to prepare for heavier rainfall in the coming months, public-private collaboration remains a key pillar in ensuring that relief efforts are swift, coordinated, and sustainable.
