Morupule Coal Mine and Absa Empower Citizen-Owned Businesses Through Supplier Development Training. Morupule Coal Mine (MCM), in partnership with Absa Bank Botswana, has launched a Supplier Development Training Programme aimed at strengthening the capabilities of 100% citizen-owned enterprises within its supplier network. The initiative forms part of MCM’s Citizen Economic Empowerment Programme (CEEP) and is designed to enhance business sustainability, compliance, and competitiveness among local suppliers.

The training opportunity is open exclusively to citizen-owned businesses registered on the MCM Supplier Database. It will focus on key operational and governance areas critical for long-term business growth and resilience. Topics include Legal and Contract Management, Labour Relations, Credit Management, Disciplinary Procedures, Performance Management, Business-Related Tax, Cybersecurity, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices.

By providing comprehensive guidance in these areas, MCM and Absa aim to help local entrepreneurs strengthen their business structures, improve operational efficiency, and align with industry standards.
