Mayu New Tech and Ministry of Water Explore Strategic Collaboration to Enhance Water Security. Mayu New Tech Company recently engaged with the Ministry of Water and Human Settlement to explore strategic collaboration aimed at improving access to reliable water resources across Botswana. The high-level meeting, held at the Ministry headquarters, brought together senior representatives from both parties to discuss potential projects and long-term partnerships.
Mayu New Tech Managing Director Lisa Han emphasized the critical role of strong partnerships with government stakeholders to ensure sustainable solutions for water provision. “Our objective is to combine innovation with strategic planning to deliver reliable water resources that meet the needs of communities across Botswana,” she said.
Assistant Minister Hon. Motsamai Motsamai highlighted the importance of exploring innovative technologies that align with national development goals. He noted that collaborative efforts could enhance water security, improve settlement planning, and contribute to broader community well-being.
Mayu New Energy Tech, a Chinese company, specializes in developing artificial water source equipment and systems in areas facing limited access to clean water. The company’s technology harnesses natural resources such as air and sunlight to manufacture fresh water artificially, offering innovative solutions for both urban and rural settlements.
The engagement also included a delegation led by Mr. Miles Nan, Special Advisor and Presidential Envoy of Trade and Investment (Asia-Pacific) of the Republic of Botswana. His participation underscored the potential for strengthening bilateral trade and investment partnerships while addressing critical infrastructure and resource challenges.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to exploring joint initiatives that could support Botswana’s water security, enhance sustainable settlement planning, and contribute to socio-economic development. The meeting marks a step forward in leveraging technology and innovation to address national priorities while creating opportunities for private sector participation and value creation.
