Macmillan Botswana Donates Textbooks to Boost Learning in Bonnington South. In a bid to strengthen educational outcomes in the Gaborone Bonnington South constituency, Macmillan Botswana donated a significant number of textbooks during a ceremony held at the constituency office this morning.
Speaking at the event, Vice President and area Member of Parliament Ndaba Gaolathe expressed confidence that the new resources would motivate schoolchildren to improve their learning. He emphasized perseverance and patience as key to reaping the rewards of education. “I am confident that these books will serve as valuable tools for our children’s academic growth,” Gaolathe said, while extending gratitude to Macmillan Botswana for their support.
Kopano Sechele, General Manager of Macmillan Botswana, highlighted the company’s swift response after being approached by the MP’s office just last week. “This quick response demonstrates that education is a top priority for us,” he stated. Sechele added that the organization, with a 45-year history in Botswana, has consistently contributed to institutions, including recent donations to the Prisons Service to aid prisoner education. He expressed hope that the textbooks would make a meaningful impact on children’s lives.
Arnold Somolokae, President of the Gaborone West Customary Court, also voiced support for ongoing educational development, noting improvements since the introduction of tutorials in the area. He encouraged Macmillan Botswana to consider donating chairs and tables in the future, given the growing number of learners.
The initiative underscores the importance of collaboration between communities and corporate partners in fostering educational progress. By providing essential learning materials, Macmillan Botswana continues to play a vital role in nurturing the next generation and promoting academic success.
