Local Producers Gain Retail Access at BITC’s National Roadshow Product Showcase. The Botswana Investment and Trade Centre (BITC) recently hosted a product showcase as part of the ongoing National Roadshow Launch, aimed at strengthening Botswana’s local economic ecosystem through targeted business linkages.
The event brought together local producers, retailers, hotels, and key industry stakeholders for Business-to-Business (B2B) Matchmaking sessions designed to foster commercial partnerships and boost market access for locally made products.
Participants were offered direct insights into retailer expectations, including product quality, packaging, and listing requirements. These interactions gave producers a clearer path to improving their offerings and enhancing their readiness for retail opportunities.
The showcase also served as a platform for cross-sector collaboration, featuring strong support from Brand Botswana and strategic partners such as the Local Enterprise Authority (LEA), Citizen Entrepreneurial Development Agency (CEDA), Botswana Bureau of Standards (BOBS), and the Selebi Phikwe Economic Diversification Unit (SPEDU).
Together, these organizations are working to drive product development, build competitiveness, and promote the visibility of Botswana’s local goods in both national and regional markets.
This collaborative approach is aligned with the broader vision of building a sustainable and self-reliant local economy. By equipping producers with essential market insights and fostering access to high-value retail platforms, the initiative underscores Botswana’s commitment to empowering local entrepreneurs and advancing the national value chain.
