Kasane-Kazungula Redevelopment Project Reaches Key Milestone with New Facilities. The Minister of Environment and Tourism, Hon. Wynter Mmolotsi, has officially handed over two major facilities as part of the Kasane-Kazungula Redevelopment Project (KKRP). The new Institutional Office Block and the Government Fleet Management (GFM) Workshop and Fuel Station were delivered to the Ministry for State President, Defence and Security and the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, respectively.
The handover marks a significant step in the KKRP, which is aimed at transforming Kasane and Kazungula into premier tourism hubs. The project seeks to enhance infrastructure and service delivery in the region, positioning it as a gateway for tourism and economic activity.
The Institutional Office Block will provide improved administrative capacity for government operations, while the GFM Workshop and Fuel Station are expected to strengthen fleet management and logistical support. Together, these facilities represent critical investments in the efficiency and sustainability of government services in the area.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Mmolotsi emphasized the importance of the redevelopment project in supporting both tourism and broader national development goals. He noted that the facilities will contribute to improved service delivery and help ensure that Kasane and Kazungula are well-prepared to meet the demands of growing tourism and infrastructure needs.
The Kasane-Kazungula Redevelopment Project continues to be a cornerstone initiative for the region, with its focus on modernizing infrastructure and creating an enabling environment for economic growth. The handover of these facilities reflects the government’s commitment to building strong institutional capacity while advancing the long-term vision of positioning Kasane and Kazungula as leading destinations in Botswana’s tourism landscape.
