Jwaneng Mine and SRR Engineers Boost Education with Textbook Donation to Sese Primary. The Jwaneng Mine Project Management Office (PMO), in collaboration with SRR Civil and Structural Engineers, has reaffirmed its commitment to community development through a donation of 180 textbooks to Sese Primary School. Valued at P38,700, the contribution is directed toward Standard 5, 6, and 7 pupils, with a particular focus on supporting students preparing for the Primary School Leaving Examinations (PSLE).

During the handover, SRR Project Manager Mr. Cornelius Nkgabutlane underscored the significance of the initiative. He described the donation as not just the provision of textbooks but an investment in the long-term growth of the community by promoting academic excellence among learners.

The Head of Sese Primary School, Mr. Wilson Jatlhapi, expressed deep appreciation for the gesture, noting the positive and practical impact such support has on the school’s performance and student morale. He highlighted the importance of consistent partnerships between businesses and schools in improving educational outcomes.

The initiative aligns with Debswana’s “Building Forever” strategy, which aims to create lasting and meaningful contributions in communities within the company’s Areas of Influence. By working closely with its partners, Jwaneng Mine continues to extend its influence beyond mining operations, focusing on education, empowerment, and sustainable development.

For Botswana’s business community, this initiative serves as a model of how corporate partnerships can address critical social needs while strengthening community relations. Investments in education not only enhance learning environments but also build the foundation for future skills development, which is essential for the country’s long-term economic resilience.

This latest contribution reinforces the role of corporate social responsibility in creating shared value and highlights the positive ripple effects that arise when industry leaders commit to uplifting local communities.
