Jwaneng Learners Explore Career Possibilities at Acacia Primary’s Annual Fair. Acacia Primary School has opened its doors for the second annual Career Fair, offering an enriching and motivational platform for Standard 7 and Form 3 students from schools across Jwaneng. The event aims to spark early career curiosity by introducing learners to a wide range of professional paths, from conventional roles to newer, creative industries such as sports and pageantry.
In her opening remarks, Jwaneng Magistrate Kgopolo Ntseane encouraged students to pursue success with purpose and patience. “Success is not about finishing early, but about finishing right,” she said, urging learners to build resilience and stay focused on long-term goals.
Jwaneng Mine Education Manager, Levina Granger, added insight into the modern employment landscape, noting the growing flexibility and opportunity for young people to follow careers aligned with their passions and unique talents. “Today’s youth are no longer limited to traditional jobs,” she said. “Talent can open doors, and every skill has value when nurtured with discipline and purpose.”
With support from Debswana, the Career Fair includes interactive booths and sessions where students engage directly with professionals across various fields. Exhibitors provide guidance on educational paths, skill requirements, and real-world experiences, allowing students to better understand how to align their interests with future career goals.
The initiative reflects Acacia Primary School’s commitment to early career education and development, reinforcing the belief that exposure and inspiration at a young age can shape the direction of a learner’s future. Organizers hope the event will continue to grow annually and encourage more young minds in Jwaneng to dream boldly and plan wisely.
