Inside the FNBB Budget Review 2026 Finale: Leaders Emphasise Diversification and Delivery. The final session of the FNBB Budget Review Seminar 2026 brought together international financial insights and local industry perspectives in a discussion centred on sustaining long term growth through diversification and structural reform.

Contributors from Bloomberg, Rand Merchant Bank, and a high level panel examined how Botswana can strengthen economic resilience while building on the foundations of its mining sector. The discussion explored the role of value chain development, infrastructure investment, and resource optimisation in shaping more inclusive economic outcomes.

Speakers emphasised that diversification should not be seen as a move away from mining, but rather as an extension of the sector’s strengths. Aligning mineral production with downstream industries and supporting infrastructure was highlighted as a pathway to broaden economic participation and enhance long term stability.
