Hon. Wynter Mmolotsi to Outline Tourism Pitso and City Tourism Launch on RB1. Honourable Wynter B. Mmolotsi is scheduled to appear on RB1 at 08:15 on Tuesday, where he will speak about the upcoming Tourism Pitso and City Tourism launch set to take place in Francistown from 22 to 24 January 2026.

The interview is expected to focus on the objectives and significance of the Tourism Pitso, a national gathering aimed at engaging tourism stakeholders and partners. The event will be held under the theme “Tourism as a catalyst for economic diversification and sustainable growth through partnerships.” According to the outlined programme, the Pitso seeks to identify challenges facing the tourism industry, provide a platform for discussion on key sector issues, and chart a strategic direction for the growth and development of tourism.

The Tourism Pitso forms part of broader efforts to strengthen collaboration between government, industry players, and partners within the tourism value chain. It is positioned as a space for dialogue on how tourism can contribute meaningfully to economic diversification, job creation, and sustainable development.

In addition to the Tourism Pitso, the Francistown event will also include a City Tourism launch. This initiative is intended to highlight the role of cities in tourism development and to showcase opportunities within urban tourism offerings. Further details on the launch programme are expected to be shared during the RB1 broadcast.

The Tourism Pitso is aligned with national development frameworks, including Vision 2036 and the National Tourism Policy. These frameworks emphasise sustainable economic growth, diversification, and inclusive development, with tourism identified as a key sector capable of supporting these goals.

The Francistown gathering is expected to bring together a range of tourism stakeholders over the three-day period, providing an opportunity to reflect on the current state of the sector and explore pathways for future growth through partnerships and coordinated action.
