HATAB Annual Conference 2025 Kicks Off with Stanbic Bank-Powered Cocktail Reception. The 2025 Hospitality and Tourism Association of Botswana (HATAB) Annual Conference began on a high note this evening with a vibrant cocktail reception hosted by Stanbic Bank Botswana at the Sedia Riverside Hotel.

The evening gathering brought together delegates from across Botswana’s tourism and hospitality sectors, providing a relaxed setting for networking ahead of the formal sessions. The reception served as an important precursor to the conference’s main agenda, setting a collaborative and optimistic tone for the days ahead.

In his welcome address, Stanbic Bank Botswana CEO, Mr. Chose Modise, underscored the importance of strategic partnerships in building sustainable growth. “At Stanbic Bank, we are always ready for collaborations—sustainable value creation collaborations that can drive this country forward,” he said, affirming the bank’s support for the sector and the future of tourism in Botswana.

Delivering the keynote address, Minister of State President, Hon. Moeti Mohwasa, reiterated government’s willingness to engage with industry players. He encouraged stakeholders to raise concerns around policy or legislation that may hinder growth, emphasizing his office’s openness to dialogue.

Air Botswana CEO and HATAB Airline Sector Representative, Ms. Lulu Rasebotsa, concluded the evening with a call to action. “When all is said and done, more is said than it is done. This calls for more action,” she stated, urging collaboration between the industry and government to unlock new opportunities.

The cocktail reception officially marked the start of the HATAB Annual Conference 2025, now in its 40th edition. With discussions set to continue in the coming days, the connections made during this kickoff event are expected to play a pivotal role in shaping Botswana’s tourism landscape.
