Governance Training 2026 Tackles Corporate Scandals and Oversight Gaps. Exclusive Human Capital Consultancy (EHCC) has launched the 4th Governance Training 2026 at Phakalane Golf Estate Hotel Resort, citing growing concerns over weakening corporate governance standards and leadership accountability in Botswana.

Held under the theme “Cultivating Ethical Leadership in Promoting Corporate Governance in a VUCA Era,” the summit aims to address challenges facing institutions in a volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous environment.

Opening the session, EHCC Chairperson Joe Ndadi said the consultancy identified serious governance gaps while conducting board assessments across both public and private sectors. He noted that many organizations struggle with leadership accountability, oversight, and the administration of power, creating confusion in governance structures.

Ndadi explained that the training was designed as a knowledge-sharing platform to equip board members, executives, company secretaries, and compliance officers with practical governance skills and global best practices.

He stressed that Botswana, once regarded as a model for sound governance, is increasingly witnessing concerns such as weak oversight, ethical lapses, and corporate scandals. These developments, he said, raise questions about whether institutions are maintaining the standards that previously set the country apart.

The training program is expected to cover a wide range of topics, including governance architecture, ethics, stakeholder relations, ESG principles, internal controls, shareholder activism, and the role of boards and executives in strengthening institutional accountability.

The summit has drawn corporate leaders, government officials, and governance experts from Botswana and South Africa, all focused on how ethical leadership can help organizations navigate today’s complex environment.
