FNB Francistown Leads Community Clean-Up Drive in Business District. First National Bank (FNB) Francistown took to the streets early this morning in a hands-on community initiative that saw staff actively engaged in service around the city’s central business areas.

Dubbed Service in the Streets, the outreach covered key locations including the Francistown bus rank, spaces around the FNB branch, and surrounding neighbourhoods. The initiative focused on direct community support—assisting informal traders, cleaning public spaces, and engaging with local residents.

For FNB, the exercise was more than a symbolic gesture. It was a practical demonstration of the bank’s broader commitment to inclusive growth and corporate social responsibility. “Whether it was assisting local stall owners or tidying high-traffic zones, our team was on the ground responding to community needs in real time,” said an FNB representative.

This form of direct engagement aligns with the bank’s Help Changes Everything ethos and reflects a growing trend among businesses to move beyond traditional CSR models toward tangible, high-impact action. For local business owners and informal traders in the area, the support offered visibility, cleanliness, and improved access—critical factors for foot traffic and daily operations.

With Botswana’s urban centres growing and informal trade playing a key role in economic activity, initiatives like Service in the Streets represent a strategic investment in community well-being and local business ecosystems.
