DTC Botswana Boosts Women’s Football with P1.7 Million Sponsorship. DTC Botswana (DTCB) has reaffirmed its commitment to the growth of women’s football by unveiling a P1.7 million sponsorship package for the 2026 Women’s Championship, marking a P200,000 increase from last year’s investment.

The enhanced sponsorship provides a significant financial boost to one of Botswana’s fastest-growing football competitions, underscoring corporate confidence in women’s sport as a platform for talent development, community engagement, and sporting excellence.

Excitement is building ahead of the DTCB Women’s Championship Block Tournament Playoffs, scheduled for 27–28 June 2026. The Eastern Block playoffs will be hosted in Serowe, while the Western Block playoffs will take place in Tsabong, with teams competing for qualification and championship honours.

This year’s tournament introduces improved incentives, with the champions set to receive P50,000 in prize money. The runners-up will earn P35,000, while third and fourth-placed teams will take home P25,000 and P10,000 respectively.

Beyond the prize purse, the sponsorship is expected to enhance competition standards and create greater opportunities for female athletes across the country. Organisers believe the increased investment will help raise the profile of women’s football and inspire more young players to pursue the sport.
