Dikgwebo Dialogues Heads to Francistown to Spotlight Northern Innovation Opportunities. Entrepreneurs in northern Botswana will soon have access to a major platform designed to highlight regional opportunities and strengthen the local innovation ecosystem. Dikgwebo Dialogues, powered by the Botswana Digital & Innovation Hub (BDIH) in partnership with UNICEF Botswana, is set to take place in Francistown on 11 December 2025 at Cresta Thapama Hotel.
The full-day event, themed “Opportunities in the North: Unlocking Francistown’s Innovation Ecosystem,” aims to connect innovators, startups, and small businesses with essential support services and insights from national entrepreneurship institutions. Running from 08:00 to 17:00, the event is free and open to entrepreneurs from all sectors.
BDIH, the Local Enterprise Authority (LEA), and the Citizen Entrepreneurs Development Agency (CEDA) will lead discussions on resources available to northern entrepreneurs, access to business development support, and pathways for scaling innovative ventures. For many businesses in the region, the event offers a rare opportunity to engage directly with decision-makers and industry facilitators.
The programme will also feature real-world startup journeys, including insights from Chenin Blanc Horticulture. These stories are expected to give attendees a practical understanding of navigating challenges, raising capital, and building sustainable enterprises in Botswana’s evolving business landscape.
Organisers say the Dialogues are designed to spark collaboration among entrepreneurs, support institutions, and the wider innovation community. For Francistown, the event presents a platform to highlight untapped opportunities in sectors such as agriculture, digital solutions, manufacturing, and creative industries.
Botswana’s entrepreneurial ecosystem continues to grow, and events like Dikgwebo Dialogues provide much-needed exposure, networking, and learning for both emerging and established businesses. As the country pushes for more inclusive economic growth, initiatives that bring support structures closer to local innovators play an increasingly critical role in shaping the future of Botswana’s business landscape.
