Création Botswana Finale to Award P100,000 to Top Fashion Entrepreneurs. The Création Botswana programme is nearing its grand finale, with P100,000 in funding set to be awarded to outstanding creative entrepreneurs in the country’s fashion and textile sector. The initiative, which was launched in September 2024, aims to support innovation, sustainability, and entrepreneurship in Botswana’s growing creative economy.

Speaking in an interview, Nature Inger, the programme’s manager, confirmed that the final event will take place on 14 July 2025 in Gaborone, where selected designers will unveil their completed collections during an exclusive fashion showcase.

The initiative is supported by ABSA Bank Botswana and Lucara Botswana, who have each committed P50,000 to the programme. The funds will be awarded to the two most promising business pitches, selected based on creativity, business potential, and sustainability.

“The goal of Création Botswana is not just to celebrate fashion, but to empower the next generation of design entrepreneurs to build viable, locally rooted, and globally competitive businesses,” Inger said.

The programme has created a platform for fashion designers to receive mentorship, refine their business models, and gain access to funding and networks that are often out of reach for emerging talent.

For Botswana’s fashion and textile entrepreneurs, the finale represents more than just a competition—it is a chance to demonstrate commercial readiness, align with industry leaders, and move closer to transforming ideas into sustainable enterprises.
