Coffee Session Spotlights Big Ideas for Social Impact. A recent coffee session created space for conversation and reflection as participants gathered to explore how business can be used to address pressing social challenges. The session featured Philip Harding, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Impact Junkie, who shared insights drawn from his work supporting social entrepreneurs around the world.
Harding encouraged attendees to think beyond small scale solutions and instead focus on what he described as Big, Hairy, Audacious Problems. These include issues such as poverty, access to clean water, and education. He emphasised the importance of approaching these challenges with bold ideas, practical tools, and a willingness to collaborate across sectors.
Central to the discussion was the role of Impact Junkie, a global platform that supports social entrepreneurs. Harding outlined how the network provides training, methods, and structured problem solving frameworks designed to help mission driven founders build initiatives that create measurable change. Participants heard how these tools have been applied in different contexts to help turn ideas into action.
Harding also invited those present to consider joining the Impact Junkie network. He described it as a community where social entrepreneurs can connect, learn, and access tested approaches to developing impact focused ventures. His work through the platform has reached countries including the the United States, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Indonesia, the United Arab Emirates, Guatemala, Belize, and several nations in the Caribbean.
The coffee session blended informal discussion with big picture thinking, offering attendees an opportunity to engage with new perspectives on entrepreneurship and social impact.
Organisers framed the gathering as an opportunity to exchange ideas in an accessible setting, combining a relaxed atmosphere with focused dialogue. By pairing coffee and conversation with structured insights, the session highlighted how networks and shared learning can support people working to solve complex social and economic challenges across different places worldwide today.
