Cloud Skills for a Digital Future: Botswana’s 5th AWS re/Start Cohort Now Open for Applications. In a continued effort to build digital capacity and empower young people with future-ready skills, the Botswana Digital & Innovation Hub (BDIH), in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and UNICEF Botswana, has launched the fifth cohort of the AWS re/Start Program.

The initiative offers a 12-week, full-time training programme focused on equipping unemployed and underemployed youth aged 18–35 with practical skills in cloud computing — one of the most in-demand fields globally.

The program begins with a 1-week IT Bootcamp running from 7–11 July, designed to introduce participants to IT fundamentals and assess readiness for advanced cloud training. Following the bootcamp, 30 participants will be selected to join the full AWS re/Start Program, starting 28 July 2025.

Participants will receive hands-on training, gain exposure to real-world scenarios, and learn core cloud computing skills that can open doors to employment in the tech industry. The program also provides support with resume building, interview preparation, and connection to employers looking for entry-level cloud talent.

The application window is open from 11–17 June 2025, and aspiring candidates can learn more and apply at https://skillsranker.bih.co.bw/aboutAWS.

This program is particularly relevant for Botswana entrepreneurs, tech enthusiasts, and job seekers looking to upskill or transition into the digital economy. With cloud technology reshaping industries, AWS re/Start offers a valuable opportunity to participate in a globally competitive ecosystem.
