CEDA Launches ‘A Di Tsale’ to Empower Botswana Farmers and Strengthen Agricultural Growth. Botswana’s economic diversification drive gained new momentum this week with the launch of the Citizen Entrepreneurial Development Agency (CEDA) ‘A Di Tsale Financial Product Suite’ — a new initiative designed to boost the agricultural sector and empower farmers across the country.
Speaking at the launch, CEDA Caretaker Chief Executive Officer, Khalala Mokefane, described the initiative as “a moment of renewal, courage, and shared purpose,” emphasizing that Botswana’s path to sustainable prosperity lies in transforming agriculture into a modern, wealth-generating industry.
“We are not just launching financial products,” Mokefane said. “We are igniting a movement that reawakens Botswana’s agricultural strength and transforms cattle farming into a modern, wealth-creating enterprise.”
The A Di Tsale suite introduces five targeted financial products aimed at improving productivity, resilience, and inclusion within the farming sector. These include:
- Assisted Reproductive Technologies to accelerate herd rebuilding through artificial insemination and embryo transfer.
- Fodder Production Facilities to support farmers during drought conditions.
- Thuo Khumo Product, giving salaried Batswana an opportunity to invest in agriculture.
- Group Funding Products tailored for youth, women, and cooperatives to grow collectively.
- Repackaged Cattle Production Fund for sustainable herd expansion and management.
Backed by the Government of Botswana through CEDA and the Ministries of Trade and Entrepreneurship and Lands and Agriculture, the initiative signals a strong commitment to rural development and economic transformation.
