Business of the Arts Workshop Highlights Creative Sector Growth. The University of Botswana recently hosted a successful Business of the Arts Workshop, organized by Artistique Alliance Productions, one of the beneficiaries of the CIPA Levy on Technical Devices Fund (LTDF). The event brought together artists, industry stakeholders, and students to explore the intersection of creativity and entrepreneurship.

The workshop featured engaging panel discussions and presentations that emphasized the critical role of the LTDF in supporting Botswana’s creative sector. Speakers highlighted how the fund empowers artists, strengthens the business side of the arts, and contributes to building a sustainable creative economy.

Participants engaged in insightful conversations about the future of the creative industry, exploring opportunities for innovation, collaboration, and intellectual property protection. The event also included networking sessions and exhibition tours, giving attendees a chance to connect, share ideas, and showcase their work.

Organizers noted that the workshop demonstrated the importance of integrating business knowledge into the arts. By equipping artists with entrepreneurial skills, the initiative aims to help them transform creativity into viable enterprises capable of contributing to national development.

The event underscored the growing recognition of the arts as a driver of economic diversification and cultural identity. With support from the LTDF, Botswana’s creative sector is positioned to expand its reach, foster innovation, and create new opportunities for employment and investment.

Artistique Alliance Productions expressed pride in hosting the workshop, noting that it showcased the power of collaboration and the potential of the arts to thrive when supported by strong institutional frameworks.
