BTO Engages Chobe Council on Sustainable Tourism Partnerships. The Botswana Tourism Organisation (BTO), led by Acting Chief Executive Officer Justice Ofentse, presented before the Chobe District Full Council, engaging local leadership on key developments within the tourism sector and reinforcing the importance of collaboration for sustainable growth.

The presentation provided a strategic update on the current state of the Seboba Nature & Recreational Park, while also outlining the progress of the partnership agreement between BTO and the Seboba Trust. The update highlighted ongoing efforts to strengthen ties between national tourism structures and community-based initiatives.

Anchored in a vision of inclusive growth, Ofentse emphasized the critical role of constructive dialogue and collaboration in shaping sustainable outcomes. He reaffirmed BTO’s commitment to working closely with the Seboba Trust and the local community to navigate challenges and co-create a balanced, forward-looking partnership.

The Acting CEO stressed that sustainable tourism requires more than infrastructure; it demands partnerships that align community aspirations with national strategies. By cultivating such alliances, BTO aims to ensure that tourism development contributes meaningfully to local livelihoods while enhancing Botswana’s competitiveness as a destination.

BTO’s mandate remains focused on building strategic alliances that harmonize community interests with long-term sustainability. The organisation highlighted that every partnership serves as a bridge to shared prosperity, ensuring that tourism growth is inclusive and resilient.

The engagement with the Chobe District Council reflects BTO’s broader approach of involving stakeholders at all levels in shaping Botswana’s tourism landscape. By strengthening ties with local communities, BTO seeks to create a tourism sector that not only attracts visitors but also empowers residents and preserves cultural and natural heritage.
