BTC Launches Digital Empowerment Drive for Entrepreneurs in Old Naledi. Botswana Telecommunications Corporation (BTC) is strengthening its commitment to digital inclusion with the rollout of community-focused development initiatives in Old Naledi, a move that may bring significant opportunities for local entrepreneurs and youth.

BTC Acting CEO, Ms. Boitumelo Paya, met this morning with Hon. Nelson Ramaotwana, Minister of Justice and Correctional Services and Member of Parliament for Gaborone South, to outline BTC’s forthcoming initiatives aimed at empowering communities through technology and connectivity.

The engagement marks the beginning of targeted efforts to bridge the digital divide in underserved areas, starting with Old Naledi and with plans to expand to additional regions in the future.

For Botswana’s growing base of entrepreneurs, especially those operating in informal and underserved communities, improved digital infrastructure could unlock new opportunities — from e-commerce and mobile services to digital financial tools and remote learning.

The meeting between BTC and Hon. Ramaotwana reflects ongoing efforts to foster collaboration between government and industry in building a digitally inclusive economy.
