Branch Family to Auction Ross Branch’s Dakar Rally Suit to Support EEducation. The family of Botswana rally rider Ross Branch has announced plans to auction the racing suit he is wearing during the ongoing FIA and FIM Dakar World Rally-Raid Championship. The decision was confirmed this week by Branch’s manager, Aimee Branch.
According to Aimee, the family chose to auction the suit at the conclusion of the Dakar Rally 2026 due to its symbolic value and the opportunity it presents to support a meaningful cause. She stated that proceeds from the auction will be directed toward initiatives that support children’s education in Botswana.
Aimee explained that the importance of the Dakar cold-weather suit is not rooted in its materials, but in its design and message. The suit features a unique visual collage made up of drawings created by children from schools and playgroups across Botswana. The children were asked to express their views based on the theme “What Botswana means to you.”
She said each drawing reflects a child’s personal interpretation of home, culture, wildlife, and future aspirations. When combined, the drawings form a single artwork that accompanies Ross Branch throughout the demanding Dakar Rally stages.
The Dakar Rally is regarded as one of the world’s most challenging motorsport events, drawing international attention and featuring elite competitors from across the globe. Branch’s participation places Botswana on a global sporting stage, with the suit serving as both racing gear and a platform for storytelling through art.
The Branch family noted that the auction is intended to extend the impact of the suit beyond the race itself. By converting the artwork into support for education, the family aims to link international motorsport exposure with local community benefit.
