Botswana’s First Accredited Barbering School Opens in Gaborone’s Main Mall. A major milestone in Botswana’s vocational training sector was marked yesterday with the official launch of the Legends Training Academy, the country’s first fully accredited barbering school. Located in Gaborone’s Main Mall, the academy is set to reshape the grooming industry by offering formal training and recognised certification in professional barbering.
The initiative, developed under the Legends Barber BW brand, is aimed at empowering youth with practical skills that can translate directly into employment and entrepreneurship opportunities. By equipping young people with in-demand grooming expertise, the academy supports job creation, small business growth, and economic participation.
Speaking at the launch, representatives from the academy highlighted the importance of vocational skills in addressing youth unemployment. “We are not just cutting hair—we’re building careers, businesses, and futures. This academy is about turning talent into income and passion into profession,” said one of the founders.
The curriculum is structured to meet both industry standards and the needs of aspiring entrepreneurs, covering not just technical skills, but also hygiene, customer service, and business management. Graduates will be well-positioned to start their own businesses or secure employment in the growing grooming and beauty sector.
For Botswana’s business community, especially those focused on youth development, training, or the creative economy, the Legends Training Academy presents opportunities for partnership, investment, and local supply chain development.
