Botswana Tourism Showcases Opportunities at Meetings Africa 2026. The Botswana Tourism Organisation (BTO), together with local tourism operators, had a successful second day of engagements at Meetings Africa, the continent’s premier annual business events trade show currently underway at the Sandton Convention Centre.

Day two was marked by productive business-to-business interactions, meaningful conversations, and strong interest in Botswana’s diverse tourism and MICE offerings. The engagements reaffirmed the value of presenting a unified, industry-led presence on this important continental platform.

Hon. Dino Ballotti, Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture, joined ecosystem partners and stakeholders at the BTO stand, alongside representatives from innovation hubs, private sector partners, academia, and the media. Their participation underscored the collaborative effort to position Botswana as a credible and compelling destination for both leisure and business tourism.

The BTO stand at Meetings Africa serves as a hub for showcasing Botswana’s offerings, facilitating dialogue, and forging new partnerships. As the event continues, BTO looks forward to deepening conversations, strengthening networks, and highlighting the country’s potential as a destination for international conferences, exhibitions, and incentive travel.

Guided by its mandate to amplify Botswana’s global visibility, BTO’s participation at Meetings Africa reflects a broader strategy to leverage the creative and tourism industries as catalysts for investment, skills development, and sustainable growth. The engagements at Stand J23 demonstrate Botswana’s readiness to connect opportunity to possibility, ensuring that the nation remains competitive in the global tourism and events landscape.

With momentum building, Botswana’s presence at Meetings Africa 2026 is set to further reinforce its reputation as a destination of choice for innovation, culture, and business events.
