Botswana Tourism Organisation Sends Off Zimbabwean Cyclists on Pan-African Journey. The Botswana Tourism Organisation (BTO) warmly bid farewell to Zimbabwean cyclists Thando Tshuma Vlogs and her fiancé Vusumuzi MC Official as they continue their ambitious journey across Africa. The send-off took place in Gaborone, where BTO staff and management joined in celebrating the couple’s ongoing expedition.
During their stay in Botswana, the cyclists explored the country’s landscapes, wildlife, and cultural offerings, embracing the theme “Cycling for Sustainable Ecosystems and the Beauty of Africa.” Their route through Botswana will take them south to Lobatse, onward to Jwaneng, before exiting through the Mamuno border. Along the way, they experienced first-hand the country’s vibrant destinations, leaving with memories of Botswana’s rich nature, culture, and hospitality.
BTO acknowledged the support of local partners, including Indaba Lodge, Hilton Garden Inn Gaborone, Travelodge, and Priority Travels Botswana, whose contributions ensured that the cyclists’ stay was comfortable and reflective of Botswana’s spirit of generosity and community.
For Botswana entrepreneurs and businesses, this initiative highlights the potential of tourism-led partnerships to showcase the country on an international platform. By supporting sustainable and cultural tourism initiatives, local businesses play a vital role in promoting Botswana’s image, attracting visitors, and contributing to economic growth.
The cyclists’ departure is seen not as an end, but a continuation of a journey that champions resilience, sustainability, and the shared beauty of Africa. BTO encourages local stakeholders to remain engaged and supportive of projects that promote Botswana as a destination for responsible and experiential travel.
