Botswana Tourism Organisation Opens Call for 2026 Annual Events Calendar Submissions. The Botswana Tourism Organisation (BTO) has officially invited event promoters across the country to submit their events for consideration in the upcoming 2026 Botswana Annual Events Calendar. The call aims to compile a comprehensive national events schedule that highlights recurring activities which support tourism, attract visitors, and stimulate local economic activity.

According to BTO, only events that meet specific criteria will be considered. Eligible events must be annual, occur around the same time each year, and ideally be scheduled on stand-alone dates to reduce clashes with other activities of a similar nature. This approach ensures better visibility for participating events and helps improve the overall structure of Botswana’s tourism calendar.

Event promoters submitting entries are required to provide a concise 50-word profile of their event, including a summary of participants, spectators, and any economic-related activities surrounding the event. Submissions must also include the hosting venue, the town or village, event date, and up-to-date contact information such as telephone numbers and email addresses.

Before an event is officially listed, promoters will sign a commitment document confirming that the event will proceed as scheduled once included in the BTO calendar. Should any challenges arise that may prevent the event from taking place, promoters are expected to notify BTO as early as possible to allow for timely de-listing.

BTO emphasised that listing on the calendar does not guarantee financial support. Any assistance provided will be at the organisation’s discretion and based on established internal procedures. Proposals submitted without the required profile details will not be considered.
