Botswana Tourism Organisation Aligns Strategy Ahead of Meetings Africa. The Botswana Tourism Organisation (BTO) has reinforced its strategic alignment ahead of its participation at Meetings Africa 2026, one of the continent’s premier platforms for the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) industry.
Following a comprehensive briefing with the Botswana Consulate in Johannesburg, BTO confirmed that its objectives and destination messaging are firmly coordinated to present Botswana as a competitive and investment-ready destination. Representing the organisation are Ms. Carol Kgafela, Marketing Manager Events, and Mr. Clement Nsala, Marketing Officer, who will be joined by nine local tourism operators at the BTO exhibition stand (J23)
The participating operators include Avani Gaborone Resort & Casino, The Grand Palm Hotel Casino Convention Resort, The Chobe Safari Lodge, Protea by Marriott Gaborone Masa Square, JACQ Travel, Hotel 430, Going Africa Safaris and Tours, Cresta Hotels, and Visit Okavango Safaris. Their collective presence underscores a shared commitment to professionalism, partnership, and showcasing Botswana’s diverse tourism offerings.
Meetings Africa convenes international buyers, global media, and influential decision-makers, providing a marketplace for ideas, partnerships, and opportunities. Within this environment, Botswana aims to position itself as a destination defined by authenticity, sustainability, and high-value experiences.
BTO emphasized that its role as custodian of Botswana’s destination brand is to ensure cohesive representation that highlights the country’s strengths in both leisure and business tourism. By aligning with local operators and diplomatic partners, the organisation seeks to amplify Botswana’s visibility and competitiveness in the global MICE sector.
The initiative reflects Botswana’s broader vision of leveraging tourism as a driver of economic growth, while promoting sustainable practices that preserve the country’s unique natural and cultural heritage.
