Botswana to Host Tourism Pitso 2026 in Francistown. The Minister of Environment and Tourism, Wynter Boipuso Mmolotsi, will host the Tourism Pitso from 22 to 23 January 2026 at the Adansonia Hotel in Francistown. The two day event is set to convene stakeholders from across the tourism sector to engage on matters related to the growth and development of tourism in Botswana.

The Tourism Pitso serves as a platform for dialogue, collaboration and the exchange of ideas among participants drawn from the public and private sectors, community organisations and tourism related institutions. Discussions will focus on identifying practical approaches to strengthen the sector and explore opportunities that can contribute to its continued development.

According to the programme outline, the gathering will provide space for stakeholders to share experiences, assess current initiatives and consider strategies aimed at enhancing Botswana’s tourism offering. The engagement is expected to highlight the importance of coordinated efforts in advancing tourism driven initiatives.

Following the Pitso, a City Tourism Initiative will be held at Central Park in Francistown. This component of the programme is intended to draw attention to the role of cities in tourism development. The initiative encourages local participation and aims to showcase how urban spaces can contribute to tourism activities and economic engagement.

The City Tourism Initiative is positioned as a complementary activity to the Pitso, providing an opportunity for broader community involvement. It places emphasis on local contributions and the role residents can play in supporting tourism related efforts within urban settings.

The Tourism Pitso 2026 forms part of ongoing engagements within the sector to promote collaboration and shared understanding among stakeholders. Participants are expected to use the platform to contribute ideas, gain insights and engage with initiatives aimed at driving tourism forward in Botswana.

The event is open to invited stakeholders and members of the tourism community, with Francistown serving as the host city for this year’s gathering.
