Botswana Stock Exchange Becomes First African Exchange to Join ADX Tabadul Trading Hub. The Botswana Stock Exchange (BSE) has become the first African stock exchange to join the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange’s (ADX) Tabadul trading hub, a move aimed at expanding cross-border investment opportunities between Africa and the Middle East.
The agreement makes the BSE the 11th member of the Tabadul platform, which connects participating exchanges and enables investors to trade securities across multiple markets through local brokerage firms.
Under the partnership, investors in the Middle East will be able to trade securities listed on the Botswana Stock Exchange using local brokerages. At the same time, Botswana investors and licensed brokers will gain access to other participating markets connected through the Tabadul network.
According to the two exchanges, the platform currently links markets with a combined market capitalisation exceeding US$1 trillion, more than 700 listed companies and approximately 11 million registered investors.
BSE Group Chief Executive Officer Aupa Monyatsi described the agreement as an important milestone in the exchange’s internationalisation strategy. He said joining the platform is expected to expand cross-border investment opportunities, increase the visibility of companies listed on the BSE and contribute to the development of Botswana’s capital markets
ADX Group Chief Executive Officer Abdulla Salem Alnuaimi said Tabadul has developed into a digital platform connecting the capital markets of the Middle East and Africa. He said the initiative is intended to provide investors with broader access to investment opportunities while strengthening links between participating exchanges.
The announcement comes during a period of growth for the Botswana Stock Exchange. In May this year, the exchange recorded total market capitalisation of more than P1 trillion for the first time. The BSE currently lists 33 companies, 121 bonds and eight exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
According to ADX, the Tabadul platform has already recorded trading activity worth 13.5 billion UAE dirhams during 2026, exceeding the total trading value achieved throughout 2025.
