Botswana Showcases Ethical Diamonds at JCK Las Vegas 2025. Botswana marked a major milestone in global brand positioning on Friday as President His Excellency Advocate Duma Gideon Boko officially launched the House of Botswana at the prestigious JCK Las Vegas 2025 Expo, the world’s largest jewellery industry trade event.
Flanked by Minister of Minerals and Energy, Honourable Bogolo Kenewendo, and other national delegates, President Boko addressed a global audience with a message aimed at redefining Botswana’s presence on the world stage, not just as a diamond exporter, but as a leader in ethical luxury, investment potential, and entrepreneurial innovation.
For Botswana’s entrepreneurs, this global spotlight presents a chance to build value chains around diamonds, tourism, and design. The President also signaled Botswana’s interest in expanding its Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events (MICE) sector, urging business leaders to see Botswana as a space for both natural beauty and commercial creativity.
On the sidelines of the expo, Botswana Tourism Organisation (BTO) CEO Keitumetse Setlang participated in a panel discussion on integrating the diamond narrative into tourism development. She stressed that Botswana’s tourism is evolving, from safaris to storytelling, by using its mineral heritage to attract discerning travellers and generate inclusive growth.
With the launch of House of Botswana, local entrepreneurs are encouraged to tap into this momentum, whether through jewellery design, hospitality, marketing, or export services, as Botswana positions itself as a global player in ethical commerce and creative enterprise.
