Botswana Showcases Diamond Provenance Through Diamond and Delta TTours. Botswana has officially welcomed the first international delegation to take part in the House of Botswana Diamond and Delta Tours, an initiative aimed at highlighting the country’s diamond provenance and broader national value story.

he Honourable Minister of Minerals and Energy, Bogolo Joy Kenewendo, received delegates in Gaborone as part of the programme, which brings together voices from the global diamond and jewellery sector. The visiting group represented The Diamond Talk, a platform led by Ms Renu Choudhary, a fourth generation gem and jewellery enthusiast and a Diamond Graduate from the Gemological Institute of America.

During the visit, delegates met with the Minister to discuss Botswana’s diamond journey and the role the country continues to play in shaping responsible diamond production. The House of Botswana serves as an umbrella brand that promotes the origin, provenance and long term value of diamonds sourced from Botswana. It positions the country as a leader in ethical practices, responsible sourcing and local beneficiation.

The Diamond and Delta Tours programme is designed as an experiential platform that connects Botswana’s natural diamond value chain with its environmental and cultural heritage. The initiative highlights how diamond mining, processing and marketing intersect with conservation, tourism and community development.

By bringing together industry participants and government stakeholders, the programme seeks to offer a deeper understanding of how Botswana’s diamond sector contributes to social and economic development. It also places emphasis on the country’s approach to linking natural resource management with broader national priorities.
