Botswana Savings Bank Opens Supplier Database to Citizen-Owned Firms. Botswana Savings Bank (BSB) has issued a call for 100% citizen-owned companies to express interest in joining its supplier database for a two-year period. The initiative is part of the bank’s effort to strengthen local participation in its procurement processes and ensure that services are sourced from reputable, citizen-led enterprises.
The invitation outlines a wide range of services required by the bank, including advertising, catering, event management, HR consultancy, staff training, hospitality, IT solutions, insurance, legal services, corporate clothing, printing, travel, office supplies, pest control, and general maintenance. By opening its supplier database, BSB aims to create a structured pool of vendors that can be engaged for future procurement needs.
To qualify, companies must submit a set of compliance documents, including certified copies of tax clearance certificates, company registration certificates, trading licenses, shareholder identity documents, and relevant references. Firms are also required to provide staff resumes, professional certifications, and practicing licenses where applicable. The bank emphasized that all suppliers currently on its vendor list must re-register to remain eligible for future opportunities.
BSB clarified that inclusion in the supplier database does not guarantee contracts but ensures that registered vendors will be considered for quotations and awards. The process is designed to enhance transparency and streamline procurement while supporting citizen-owned businesses.
Interested companies must complete an online registration form and submit compliance documents via email. The closing date for submissions is set for 6 March 2026 at 10:00 hours.
This initiative reflects BSB’s commitment to empowering local enterprises and fostering sustainable economic growth by ensuring that citizen-owned businesses play a central role in delivering goods and services to the financial sector.
