Botswana Launches Business of Sport Summit 2026. The Botswana Investment and Trade Centre (BITC) has officially launched the inaugural Business of Sport Summit 2026, announcing details of the event during a press conference attended by members of the media. The summit will take place on 25–26 June 2026 at the Gaborone International Convention Centre.

The initiative has been welcomed by the Botswana Tourism Organisation (BTO) as part of broader efforts to diversify the country’s tourism offering and leverage sport tourism as a catalyst for economic growth. The summit is expected to bring together leaders from sport, business, tourism, government, technology, and investment sectors, creating a platform to explore opportunities that can drive national development and strengthen Botswana’s position as a destination for major sporting, business, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) events.

Held under the theme “Connect, Inspire and Transform,” the summit will focus on fostering strategic partnerships, attracting investment, and creating employment opportunities. It will also showcase the growing role of sport in advancing tourism, business development, and economic transformation in Botswana.

BITC highlighted that the summit is designed to serve as a catalyst for innovation and collaboration, positioning Botswana as a hub for sport-driven economic activity. By bringing together diverse stakeholders, the event aims to unlock new opportunities for growth while reinforcing the country’s reputation as a competitive destination for international events.
