Botswana Investment Dialogue Takes Centre Stage at Mining Indaba 2026. Rand Merchant Bank Botswana and the Botswana Investment and Trade Centre convened a high level investor engagement in Cape Town this week, bringing together stakeholders attending the Investing in African Mining Indaba 2026. The RMB–BITC Investor Connect session was hosted on Tuesday as part of activities linked to the continent’s flagship mining gathering, providing a focused platform for dialogue on investment prospects in Botswana and across Africa.
The session formed part of RMB’s broader Mining Indaba engagement strategy, designed to strengthen relationships with institutional investors, mining companies and project sponsors exploring scalable opportunities. Selected investment leads participating in Indaba 2026 attended the curated engagement, where Botswana was presented as a competitive and stable destination for mining related investment activity.
Delivering the keynote address, Ministry of Minerals and Energy Permanent Secretary Mr Pelaelo Khowe reaffirmed Botswana’s established mining sector fundamentals. He highlighted opportunities spanning mineral prospecting, upstream development and expansion across the broader mining value chain. Khowe also emphasised the government’s commitment to supporting sustainable growth within the sector.
The platform enabled direct interaction between investors and key stakeholders, aligning capital providers with identified opportunities in Botswana’s resources landscape. Organisers described the session as a targeted engagement bringing together institutional perspectives and sovereign priorities within a single forum linked to Mining Indaba 2026.
Through the Investor Connect initiative, RMB Botswana and BITC positioned the engagement as part of ongoing efforts to facilitate dialogue between investors and public sector leadership. The session also formed part of RMB’s wider participation at Mining Indaba 2026, where the bank is engaging market participants across multiple investment themes.
RMB said the engagement reflects its role as a corporate and investment banking partner in the resources sector, supporting connections between capital and opportunity while enabling structured engagement between investors and government representatives during the Indaba week overall.
