Botswana Housing Corporation and Defence Force Align Efforts to Advance Military Housing Delivery. The Botswana Housing Corporation and the Botswana Defence Force have reinforced their working relationship following a high level project briefing focused on the delivery of military housing developments.
The meeting brought together senior leadership from both institutions, including BDF Commander Mpho Mophuting, and marked the first engagement of its kind since his appointment to the role. Discussions centred on progress across ongoing and planned housing projects intended to support members of the Force.
Officials reviewed updates on existing developments and outlined priorities for future accommodation initiatives. The briefing reaffirmed the shared objective of providing sustainable and quality housing solutions for military personnel.
Addressing the session, General Mophuting identified accommodation as a strategic priority for the BDF. He noted that continued recruitment of new personnel each year has increased demand for housing, requiring coordinated planning and timely project delivery. He encouraged continued collaboration to ensure infrastructure keeps pace with the Force’s evolving needs.
Representing the housing authority, Acting Chief Executive Officer Sekgele Ramahobo confirmed that the organisation recognises the urgency of meeting accommodation requirements. He reiterated the corporation’s commitment to delivering projects according to agreed timelines and budgets while maintaining professional and operational standards.
Both parties emphasised the importance of ongoing communication and cooperation in supporting project implementation. Officials indicated that regular engagement will help address challenges and maintain momentum across current developments.
The meeting concluded with mutual confidence that strengthened coordination between the two institutions will support the continued rollout of housing projects for the Force, as planning and construction efforts progress in line with identified requirements across Botswana’s defence infrastructure programme.
